Why should I use a truck deer feeder?

Using a deer road feeder offers the most convenient way to hunt deer located in the surrounding area. It helps you scatter corn kernels down roads and senderos throughout your property, bringing out the deer from under cover. The road feeders will allow you to feed anywhere you can get your truck or atv into.  

Can truck feeders handle different feed types like grains, pellets, or silage?

Not usually.  The road feeders we carry are designed for throwing whole kernel corn.  Seed and other grains are usually too small to run through these feeders.  We also would not recommend running fertilizer through them which will throw too much and also corrode the metal hopper. 

What materials are truck feeders typically made from, and why does it matter?

Road Feeders are made of metal, either galvanized sheet metal or aluminum, or are made of polyethylene. Galvanized and powder-coated steel prevents rust and makes the system durable. Polyethylene is lighter and easier to take to and from the vehicle. 

How much maintenance do truck feeders typically require?

These units do not require much maintenance.  Usually just brushing off the unit after use is enough.  If corn dust cakes on the feeder, a hose and brush might be required to clean it up.  

Are ATV/truck feeders compatible with all types of trucks and utility vehicles?

The road feeders for deer are easily mounted onto the rack of an ATV or the tailgate of a UTV or truck.  Some units have optional 2" receiver brackets that will bolt to the feeder and then slide in the 2" receiver on the vehicle.

What should I consider when choosing the right size of a truck feeder?

A few considerations to buy the right size of truck feeder or road feeders for deer, include:

• How often are you going to be using the road feeder.
• Will the feeder stay mounted to the vehicle.
• The larger the feeder, the heaver it is. So moving the larger feeders to and from the vehicle can be cumbersome.

The most popular size of road feeder is 50# or 100#.  50# units are good for ATV/UTV while the 100# feeders are better suited to trucks.
