Colt BOA 4.25 inch .357 Magnum blued revolver with Santos rosewood grips and vent rib barrel

Own a piece of Colt history with the Colt BOA, the return of one of the rarest "snake gun" double-action revolvers. This 4.25-inch .357 Magnum is a collaboration between Colt's Manufacturing Company and Custom & Collectable Firearms (CNC Firearms), and it marks the first time Colt has built the BOA since the original 1985 limited run. Each one is a factory Colt, finished in polished blue with Santos rosewood grips.

The original BOA was built for a single year in 1985 for Lew Horton Distributing, in a run of only 1,200 revolvers. It combined the improved Trooper Mk V lockwork with Python-style barrel features, and collectors have chased it ever since. This revival follows the original 1985 offering with a 4.25-inch vent-rib barrel that gives a refined sight plane and the balanced look of a classic Colt double action.

The BOA is chambered in .357 Magnum and also shoots .38 Special. The double-action/single-action external-hammer system has a trigger pull that averages 3.5 pounds. It has a brass bead front sight and an adjustable rear sight, a 1:14 twist barrel, and an overall length of 9.75 inches. It weighs 42 ounces, which gives it a steady, solid feel on the range. It carries a special serial number series and ships in a special edition custom Colt box made for the BOA release.

Whether you collect Colt snake guns or want a classic revolver you can shoot, the BOA fits both. Stop by the store or call with questions about availability.
